Information Sheet

MyHealios specializes in the delivery of evidence-based interventions to caregivers of individuals with chronic mental health and neurodegenerative difficulties. Our goal is to empower caregivers to improve their well-being and to provide the best support to their loved ones.

MyHealios acknowledges that coming to terms with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and subsequently managing the symptoms, is a particularly challenging experience for both caregiver and patient. MyHealios provides clinician-led psychoeducation and skills training, focusing on alleviation of caregiver distress and improved functioning. The intervention is provided via video-conference (or telephone) to allow the caregivers to receive the service in the comfort of their homes or other convenient location, and to allow coverage of a broad geographic area.

MyHealios is conducting a research study to see how useful the program is in reducing caregiver burden and distress for family caregivers of individuals with AD. Eight (8) sessions are being offered to caregivers of individuals with AD. These sessions will be free of charge. Because we want to see how your participation in the program affects you, we use questionnaires to look at your well-being and care activities before you work with us and after you have completed the intervention. We are also interested in your experience with our service and will ask questions to get your feedback.

Before you decide, you might want to talk about the pilot program with someone you trust and respect. You are also very welcome to discuss the pilot and the contents of this information sheet with a member of the MyHealios clinical team.
